Reverend LaWanda M. Cherry
Reverend LaWanda M. Cherry is a born-again and Holy Ghost-filled Christian who gave her life to the Lord at the age of 9 in 1979. Reverend Cherry received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Management and Organization from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She is married to Bishop John A. Cherry, II and is the proud mother of their two daughters, Abriona and Aleah, and one son, John A. Cherry, III.
Reverend Cherry was ordained an Elder on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at our 25th Anniversary Worship Service, which was held at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Her assignment is to help her husband in ministry to meet his duties and responsibilities as the Pastor of such a large ministry.
Reverend Cherry has a love for God and desire to please Him that was instilled in her as a child. She has a formidable work ethic and works diligently to help her husband by filling whatever duty he assigns to her, which ranges from providing counsel to women, overseeing church events and activities to working with staff to implement his decisions.

Reverend Cherry is the Worldwide Coordinator of From the Heart Church Ministries Worldwide™, assisting her husband in the worldwide ministry, and is responsible for the internal administrative operation of the Office of the Episcopal Pastor. She has a formidable work ethic and works diligently to help her husband by filling whatever duty he assigns to her, which ranges from providing counsel to women, to working with staff to implement his decisions.

Reverend Cherry oversees the monthly Women of God Lifegivers fellowship where she teaches and encourages the women of the church to be strong in their commitment to the Faith according to the Word of God. Additionally, she also hosts the church’s Annual Women’s Retreat and teaches at the Annual Marriage Enrichment Retreat and Seminars.
Reverend Cherry believes her life and her marriage are to be an example to the church and the Body of Christ, and she takes this assignment from God very seriously. She considers it a privilege to be used by God to assist her husband in ministry and to serve the congregation of From the Heart Church Ministries® .
